EXHIBITS

Marge McDougall
The Mackenzie & District Museum is proud to exhibit paintings by Marge McDougall. Many of her paintings are portraits of Tse’khene First Nations people that lived near Finlay Forks in the mid 1900’s.
Mackenzie Times Newspaper
The museum holds around 2,000 issues of the Mackenzie Times Newspaper. It was first issued on June 30th, 1976 and the last issue was July 6th, 2016.
For forty years the Times covered the news and issues that pertained to Mackenzie. Some of the highlights were Question of the Week, Chit Chat, Roses and Raspberries, sports scores and standings, and coverage of any events that happened in our area.

LeTourneau Tree Crusher
This massive machine was designed to quickly crush swaths of forest, because there wasn’t enough time to fell trees by traditional harvest methods as the Williston Reservoir flood waters rose.
The LeTourneau G175 Tree Crusher was built in the early 1960s by the LeTourneau Company out of Longview, Texas. It was shipped to Thurso, Quebec to be used by Tractau Lectric, who in 1964, along with two other smaller tree crushers, came to Mackenzie.
